being a young photographer, i’ve always had this perception that the images/work i create always have to be perfect and flawless. i feel insecure everytime i miss a little glitch in it after i post it up and obsessively taking it down, fixing it and then reposting it again. yesterday’s class was interesting because i had a shift in perspective; art doesn’t always have to be “pretty” and does not have to conform to society’s standards/assumptions of how it is supposed to be. the notion of intentionally “messing up” images/videos is so interesting and i’m excited to explore and experiment with it. it’s kind of a matter of creating something i know people would like and accept vs. creating something that would make them think instead.
